Year 5RH completed a variety of activities to celebrate Black History Month. We explored the life and legacy of artist Jean- Michel Basquiat and recreated some of his unique artwork. We researched the life of former South African President, Nelson Mandela and the impact of his work.
Finally, we learned about the tragic case of teenager Stephen Laurence who was murdered in a racially motivated attack in London and the discrimination within the police force.
We enjoyed our learning and understand the need to continue to educate others about racism and discrimination.
