Vision & Values

Mission Statement

"Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is dedicated to the education, growth and development of the whole child based on the partnership of pupils, staff, parents, governors and parishes. The school affirms Gospel values through Christian Catholic teaching, prayer, liturgy and worship"

At Star of the Sea, our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our vision is for all children to enjoy 7 happy years at Star of the Sea, or 8 years if attending our Nursery. We believe our school should be a place where every individual can flourish and grow – academically, socially and personally – within a caring and supportive environment.

We aim to help create global citizens for the future: children who take pride in their own communities and understand their responsibilities both locally and throughout the world. We are committed to ensuring all pupils have opportunities to take part in a wide range of experiences that help them learn, develop curiosity and become lifelong learners.

Our curriculum is designed to be creative and inspiring, providing an excellent education that enables all children to shine. We want pupils to look back on their time at Star of the Sea with fondness, confidence and a strong sense of achievement.

Star of the Sea is a place where inclusion and diversity are actively encouraged. The teachings of the Catholic Church underpin all that we do, shaping our relationships, values and daily life in school. Guided by the teachings of the Gospels and the example of Jesus, “Love one another as I have loved you” runs through everything we do within our school community.
