Year 5 enjoyed an Anglo Saxon workshop thanks to Daniel from Newcastle Castle. As part of their Summer treat, they explored Anglo Saxon artefacts, learned the story of Beowulf and the similarities between Beowulf and The Lord of the Rings and even re-enacted the Battle of hastings of 1066 between the Normans and the Anglo Saxons, where the Anglo saxons were defeated.
