Year 4 have shared their thoughts and reflections on their stay at the Youth Village.

Two weeks ago we went on our Year 4 residential trip to the Emmaus Youth Village. We had a fantastic time with our leaders and teachers, learning how to be Pilgrims of Hope in this Jubilee year.
There were so many fun activities where we learnt about important followers of Jesus, such as:
St Peter. Jesus gave Peter his name as the name means ‘rock’. From the moment Jesus met him he knew that Peter would be the rock of the Church.
St Bernadette of Lourdes. She was chosen to give the message of love God has for all mankind.
St Juan Diego of Mexico who received a special mission from Jesus’ mother, Mary to build a chapel in her honor.
St Cuthbert became well-known as a travelling priest spreading the Christian message.
“I had a wonderful time at the Youth Village. I enjoyed how Chelsea told us what it was like growing up in Uganda. I am thankful to the staff who have all left their family and friends to help us learn and have a good time. I learnt that even if you don’t have much, one thing you will always have is God.”
“I am grateful for the Youth Village and the teachers and leaders who looked after us. The Youth Village helped me be resilient, brave and to overcome my fears. We learnt about lovely saints like St Bernadette and we learnt about Mexico, Uganda and Lourdes. I learnt so much and am very grateful.”
