Year 5 Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week.

Mental Health Awareness Week – Our Focus on Community

This week, we’ve been learning all about Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme this year is ‘Community’.

Being part of a safe and friendly community—like our school—can really help us feel happy and supported. Communities help us feel like we belong, keep us safe during tough times, and give us a reason to feel proud and confident.

In class, we talked about how being part of a community can make us feel connected to others. We also watched a short video from Newcastle footballer Dan Burn, who shared his own story about mental health. He reminded us that asking for help isn’t a weakness—it’s actually a sign of strength.

It’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling, and there are always people in our school community who are here to listen and help.

Let’s keep looking out for each other and making our school a kind and caring place for everyone!
