Last week in Year 4

Year 4

November 27, 2023

We have been having so much fun in Year 4.

Last Friday we took part in the Football Fun Day and enjoyed some great football games with Access Coaching and made lots of football crafts. On Tuesday the children helped Mrs Raynor to celebrate a special birthday and enjoyed singing to her and decorating the classroom with gorgeous cards and banners.  On Thursday we had ukulele lessons with Fred and learned how to play a C chord along to a Sailor went to sea, sea, sea. The children were amazing.  To finish the week we had a hilarious visit from the fabulous Paul Cookson as part of the Northern Children’s Book Festival. He entertained us with readings of his poems and stories of his time as a teacher. His poems ‘Lucinda’s Sick in the Sink’ and ‘There’s a Crocodile in the House’ resulted in squeals of delight and of horror.  What a lovely way to spend a Friday afternoon.

The only cloud on our horizon was having to say good bye to Miss Byrne who has been working with us this year. She is off to work as one of Santa’s helpers and we wish her lots of fun and happiness in her future.
