Star of the Sea RC Primary School

A place where we Love, Pray, Learn and Grow

Mass Bidding Prayers

Year 6

Wednesday 10th July 2019

World - Katy

Dear Lord

We pray for the leaders of the nations, may Jesus’s concern for the hungry find a response in their hearts, so that no one in our world dies of hunger, or is forced to live in sub-human conditions. Help people to be brave and stand up for what is right in countries where sometimes bad things happen to good people.

Lord, hear us

Community - Niamh

Dear God,

Please help our school contribute and help keep a healthy, happy community. Help everyone around the world to love and support one another no matter what community they belong to. We hope that we can grow closer to our neighbours and our community so that we are able to become a part of God’s family. Let us become one big, supportive community so that we can all help care for the sick and poor. Help us to extend our community and never leave anyone out no matter what.

Lord hear us

Family - Jack

Dear Heavenly Father

We pray for our families. Our families are very important in our lives; they influence us to make the best choices we can. We thank you for their love and helping us through tough times and for things that we might not understand. We thank you for our family at Star of the Sea and for giving us our buddies to look after and cherish. We pray for Mrs DiMambro as she starts her new role as head teacher of Star of the Sea.

World– Matilda

Dear God,

We pray for the people around the world who are less fortunate than us. Let us pray for those who live in poverty especially children who haven’t enough food or water and shelter. We pray for these people through our generosity and kindness we may help all who need it in our communities.

Community – Camelia

Dear God,

Communities are a way and an opportunity for people to come together, share their opinions, points of view and suggestions. Communities can be made or used in so many different ways, such as school, home and people’s everyday lives. As we reach the end of our time at Primary school, we ask that we are able to stay in your care and community ready for the next stage of our school journey and new school community. Please may we ask that you will help our buddies, keep them safe and help them do well as they continue to grow in our school community.

Lord hear us

Family – Isabelle

Dear God,

Thank you so much for all the brothers and sisters in the world. They can show unconditional love and care to one another. They are not just brothers and sisters they are friends too and they are always there for us and we will always be there them. Home is a special place where brothers and sisters come together in God’s world. School can be a home too because you come together with friends as brothers and sisters would do.

Lord hear us

Church – William

Dear God,

May we pray for our church, a place of worship. A place where we can go to thank God for all that he did for us. He gave us life and all of the precious things in the world. May we also thank our Priests, Father Andrew and Deacon Terry, who have helped us to become closer to God. We are one big family and we must look after one another like God would want us to.

We have also been learning about the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew's Gospel and the Beatitudes where Jesus sets out a new way of living.  We drew images which came to mind when we talked about and reflected on the Beatitudes and would like to share some of them with you now.
