computing

At Star of the Sea our aim is for all pupils to become safe and proficient users of technology. Therefore, we want to model and educate our pupils on how to use technology responsibly and safely whilst ensuring they have access to a creative computing curriculum.

A high-quality computing education equips children with transferable skills which will help our pupils to become independent lifelong learners. The core of computing is computer science, in which the children are taught the principles of information, how digital systems work, and how to apply this knowledge through programming.

Pupils are equipped to use information technology to create programs and systems. Through computing pupils have the opportunity to become digitally literate – able to use, and express their thoughts and ideas through information technology. This sits alongside online safety where we help children to protect themselves in an increasingly online world.

Our aim is to provide pupils with skills which will ultimately lead them to be safe, confident problem solvers of the future.
