On Friday 12th October, we welcomed the author Piers Torday into school. He gave a great talk about how his upbringing in Hexham made him the writer he is today. From a bookshop in Hexham to talking in schools! Who knows, perhaps one of our current crop of children will return to talk to children when they are a famous author!
It has been a very busy term so far in year 3! We have been learning about the Stone Age in history, we have been to see two authors and we have had a music workshop to name just a few things.
We spent a day at Segedunum learning all about life in the Stone Age. We found out how farmers in the Neolithic period grew crops and made shelter, made clay pots, looked at weapons and tools and we handled and sorted artefacts.
