About Friends of Star of the Sea
The Friends of Star of the Sea work to promote the ethos of the charity through parent and children participation. We are extremely committed to creating lasting memories for our children. We actively encourage anyone to come along and join us, whether they have ideas for events or time to give.
Throughout 2015/16 we raised over £9,000 all of which is being put towards the new playground installation. A wooden catboat structure is being erected in Key Stage 1, with a 3 way shooter, basketball hoop and loads of equipment going into Key Stage 2. Both areas are having seating installed and Key Stage 2 is having a hang out relaxation area where the current Sunflower garden is. The children have all had a massive input into this and we have regularly meet with the School Council.
Reception and Year 6 have just received their buddy tea towels, a yearly event where by both year groups have the opportunity to buy a tea towel as a remembrance of their special relationship.
It is presumed that we are a really big group of parents and carers. In actual fact the full committee can probably be counted on two hands and we all work either full or part time, therefore more hands definitely make light work. If you have a little bit of time then we would love to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any help is always appreciated.
